It's time for our annual general meeting again, this year to held on the 18th of April, 7pm hosted by PMBA sponsor Rossendale Pennine Adventure at Ye Old Boot and Shoe in Waterfoot, Rossendale.
We want to make this a social and informative affair with as many members and supporters there as possible and so will be minimising the meeting stuff. We intend to focus on some presentations that will show what is going on trailwise in the area and what might be coming in the future. As well as a full review of PMBA projects this will include detailed talks and pics about the excellent new downhill being developed at Cock Hill, the developing Rolling Boar XC trail network and the proposals for a trail centre below Lee Quarry. Speakers will include Tony Lund from LCC and Craig Robertson from Ride On.
In terms of AGM business we will be electing officers (whether they like it or not!) and would be keen to find folk interested in getting involved with communications and event organising. We will also be proposing a small name change to 'Pennine Mountain Bike Association'.
We'd like as many people as possible to attend (makes us feel loved) to share what we've been doing and give feedback on what we should be doing. It's taken a while for PMBA to build up momentum but we feel things are now really starting to happen with a number of tangible projects on the go and we're getting the message out there. Membership has taken a sharp up turn this year (thank you very much to everyone who has joined recently, we've now run out of goodies to give away, more on order) and an even bigger thank you to those who have renewed their membership this year. If you still haven't signed up it only costs £5 and takes a couple of minutes to do online. This website is also continuing to attract more visitors each month, over 2500 unique visitors last month racking up over 130,000 hits.
So if you fancy catching up on what's happening from the people making it happen (and enjoy a pint at the same time) come and join us at Ye Olde Boot & Shoeon Thursday the 18th of April at 7pm. |
