PMBA Features on IBIKERide.com

IBikeRideOur fame and influence is spreading far and wide (alright we just get around a bit), to the extent we've been featured on the national website IBIKERide.com. The site focusing on the trails rather than the kit, MTB personalities and bikes is rapidly becoming a one stop shop for trail info, helping you to get the most out of the ever expanding riding opportunities across the UK.

When we got an email last week asking us if we'd be up for a chat and answer a few questions about who we are and what we do we thought it would have been rude not to. Part of our core goal is to gain recognition and link up with others in the MTB world so not being shy of talking about what we do we got stuck in. Here's a taster from the IBIKERide.com article:

When and how did PMBA come about? PMBA sort of happened with a good dose of making it happen by a guy called Bill Ould who is also chair of Blackburn and District Mountain bikers. There were a lot of people doing stuff to enhance the mountain biking scene locally, who came into contact with each other but weren’t working together. Bill was the one who got everyone to the pub to start working together. This all started around 2 years ago and has evolved since then.

You rightly have a lot of love for this part of the world. What do you think makes it so special for mountain biking? We’ve got cracking riding, lots of hills and moorland, quite a gritty (literally) ex-industrial landscape, loads of industrial revolution ruins and more important lots of tracks on the ground. We’re also very easy to get to

What is the future long term vision for PMBA? We want to continue expanding the riding opportunities across our patch, be that trails, training, events or other amenities. We want to become a stronger voice for the grass roots riders and extend our influence so that we automatically get considered when there are issues affecting countryside user groups.
