ACCESS 101

Published on: Feb 22 2012 by Jon Swift

An informal event with riders, clubs and access experts for anyone interested in protecting and enhancing access for Mountain Bikers.

We all know access is important but to most of us it is something for other people to worry about. But as individuals and groups we can do an awful lot to preserve access where we already have it, and to support initiatives where we want to improve access. To inform and support riders interested in access issues PMBA and SingletrAction have invited Colin Palmer (CTC), Dave Anderson (Singletrack Mag) and David Goode (Lancashire County Council Rights of Way officer) to give us their varied perspectives on the following:play

  1. The fundamentals of access law - Your rights and responsibilities as a rider
  2. Protecting and preserving access - mountain biking,  landowners and other trail users
  3. Getting better access - how we campaign and negotiate for better access. The role that individual riders and local clubs can play in this.
  4. Q&A session with the panel of experts - Colin Palmer, Dave Anderson, David Goldie
Access 101 is on Thursday 15 March, 6.30, at:
